International Organization for Migration is a leading inter-governmental organization operating in the field of migration. IOM was established over 60 years ago. It currently has more than 470 offices in 149 member countries. Over sixty years, IOM has helped millions of people in various places around the world. Assistance in voluntary return and reintegration is one of many carried out by IOM activities.
If you decide to leave Poland and return to your country, you can benefit from the assisted voluntary returns program. The program is aimed at citizens of countries outside the European Union who have been refused refugee status, subsidiary protection or tolerated stay permit or who are staying in Poland without a visa or another document authorizing their legal stay. If you have found yourself in this situation, you can turn to IOM for help in returning home.
Remember that your return within the programme is voluntary, so you have to decide for yourself whether or not to return. Contact us and tell us about your situation. You will receive detailed information on how we can help you and the situation in the country to which you wish to return. If you decide to participate in the program, we will prepare and plan your trip, and cover the associated costs.
Apart from having the cost of the return trip covered, every returnee is entitled to receive a small cash allowance, either on the day of departure from Poland or upon return to the country of origin.
Please note that only specific categories of returnees (not all) are entitled to receive reintegration assistance that aims to help them stand on their feet upon return. The scope of reintegration assistance available at any given moment, and the types of returnees entitled to receive it vary and are linked to the funding of the Programme and the eligibility criteria set for it. The specific information on reintegration assistance will be provided to the returnees on individual basis.
